This is why I do what I do

Julie Allick, denver doula, doula, birth doula, cpr, pregnancy, labor
I am truly amazed at how easily I came to lean on Julie during labor - it felt like I knew her for decades! She always knew what to say and was unwaveringly calm and reassuring. In postpartum care, she was an ally - giving me the space to laugh, cry, bathe, and sleep and I always felt safe when I left the baby in her care.

I highly recommend Julie as your doula! [Her] presence during my labor was an integral part of my positive experience giving birth...
Thank you, Julie, for everything. I am blessed that you were my doula.

Julie was our doula and I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. With a traumatic birth her services were requested last minute and we were so thankful for her help. Physically she did whatever was asked to make our family of 5 flow smoothly (cooking breakfast, cleaning, laundry). Also I think the biggest game changer was for 5 weeks I wasn’t ALONE I didn’t sink into my normal postpartum slump. I had someone to process my trauma with and to encourage me to really get the rest I needed. It was a game changer compared to my other two children’s postpartum experience.

I had an amazing experience with my Doula! Julie was there to answer all my questions before labor and reminded me to get my birth plan completed when pregnancy brain was a real struggle. During labor she was a great coach for myself and my partner. She stayed with us for the duration of labor and birth, which was over the time we had agreed on and made sure we were comfortable before she left. I can’t thank Julie enough! My experience was above and beyond. Thank you!

While most reviews probably typically come from the mother, this review is provided by a first time father. It seems that most mothers know at least a little of what to expect, but this may be less true for most fathers, and was certainly the case in my experience....
As a first time father, I did not know what to expect, at all, and wanted to ensure that my wife was as comfortable and as knowledgeable as possible, but also that I was aware of my role in the experience, and how I could provide the best experience for both my wife and child. We interviewed several Doulas, and I was most impressed with Julie, her level of experience and expertise, and her general knowledge of the birth process and newborns. Through pre-birth I was comfortable asking her questions and she always responded with a well referenced answer that gave multiple points of view, research based facts, and her own experiences...
Julie was very knowledgeable and caring with my wife during the entire process, and also let me know where to be and what to do throughout. The entire process was as painless as it could be, and we now have a healthy happy baby boy. The post-partum help has also been a great add on as I had to go back to work immediately. Having someone that could come over and assist with daily household chores, watch the baby for a little bit while my wife had some time to herself, and make food for the week was a great help. Overall, we would highly recommend Julie.

The food you made me was LIFE! Not only did it taste good but my body soaked it in like a sponge, it’s such a good dose of nutrition!

Wanted to thank you for your help and reassurance, I had originally thought of a doula to help through labor. Now I’m so grateful that I was in the OR when that issue was discovered. Thank you for supporting that decision.
